At last, Spring seems to have arrived and the plants are bursting out into flower.

Our early Magnolias were hit hard with the frosts and cold winds but now Marwood Spring, the pride and joy of the garden is covered with its red and white flowers and Athene smothered in milk white blossoms. Over the next few weeks the Rhododendrons will light up the garden with their display of multicoloured flowers to continue the colourful theme of the garden which the many Camellias and Daffodils have been giving us during March and April.

As May progresses the herbaceous plants increase their rate of growth with the flowering of early Primulas, not only the Cowslips, Primroses and Oxslips but the multicoloured Candelabra Primulas by the streams and lakes.

It's a great time of year to visit the garden.
